Koizumi Lighting begins using LIXIL's 'PremiAL R70' aluminum profile, made with 70% recycled material, to reduce CO₂ emissions and promote resource recycling in lighting products.
LIXIL Corporation (hereinafter referred to as 'LIXIL') is pleased to announce the adoption of the eco-friendly and low-carbon aluminum profile 'PremiAL R70', which consists of 70% recycled material, for the housing of indirect lighting sets produced by Koizumi Lighting Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Susumu Sakuma, hereinafter referred to as 'Koizumi Lighting')
By adopting 'PremiAL R70', its use is not only limited to aluminum sashes for buildings and stores but also extends to lighting equipment for public and residential use, promoting resource recycling and reducing CO₂ emissions.
Koizumi Lighting has set a vision to be an 'environmental solutions company,' striving to create environmentally friendly products with a focus on equipment safety and environmental considerations. In the past fiscal year, they reduced CO₂ emissions by downsizing lighting equipment. As they aim to further contribute to the environment, they agreed with LIXIL's environmental approach and decided to adopt the eco-friendly and low-carbon aluminum 'PremiAL R70'.
For the first installation of lighting sets using 'PremiAL R70,' the medium-type bar lighting of the indirect lighting set will be launched, with the housing made from the same material. By using 'PremiAL R70,' CO₂ emissions can be reduced by approximately 64% from raw material procurement to billet production, compared to using non-recycled aluminum profiles. In the future, it is expected that 'PremiAL R70' will be used in many products, including base light sets such as the SOLID DESIGN BASE LIGHT.
LIXIL has set an environmental vision for 2050, aiming for 'Zero Carbon and Circular Living,' targeting zero CO₂ emissions from business processes, products, and services by 2050. To pursue this vision, the environmental strategy focuses on 'mitigation and adaptation through climate change measures' and 'promoting resource recycling' as key areas. In the residential business, LIXIL aims to achieve a 100% recycled aluminum usage rate by the fiscal year ending in March 2031. LIXIL will continue to work towards these goals through various measures, emphasizing environmental impact reduction and creating sustainable growth and positive social impact.

Features of "PremiAL R70"
"PremiAL R70" is a low-carbon, closed-loop aluminum profile that uses 70% recycled aluminum material. The CO₂ emissions from raw material procurement to billet production for "PremiAL R70" are 4.6 kg per kg, reducing CO₂ emissions by approximately 64% compared to aluminum profiles using 100% new ingots, which emit 12.9 kg of CO₂. The CO₂ emissions from raw material procurement to billet production for "PremiAL R70" are calculated based on LIXIL's own standards, using IDEA Ver2.1.3 as a basis. IDEA (Inventory Database for Environmental Analysis) is a database provided by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology and the Sustainable Management Promotion Organization, used for calculating supply chain emissions.
